mechanism of action:
Bendroflumethiazide is thiazide diuretics it works by inhibit Na-Cl reabsorptions in the distal convoluted tubule (DCT), results in increase in the excretion of Na, Cl, and water, then the blood pressure will decrease.
Indication: used to treat hypertension and edema.
Side effect:
hyponatremia, hypokalemia, hyperuricemia, dizziness, dry mouth, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, joint pain, stomach pain, constipation.
Drug-drug interaction:
1-Abciximab: combined it with Bendroflumethiazide the efficacy of Abciximab will decrease.
2-Acebutolol: therapeutic efficacy of it will increase in combination with Bendroflumethiazide.
