The directors are inexperienced, and they are discussing their first set of annual reports. You then find out that they intend to appoint an external auditor to help them prepare the company’s financial statements so they will be correct and free of fraud. They believe that this will help shareholders and future investors to be more confident that the company’s annual financial statements are exactly accurate.
